A Home for Women in Distress and the Well-being of their Children
SFRAWD also emphasises Rehabilitation programme to lend a helping hand to disabled women in distress. The organisation helps in providing a home for women who along with their children receive protection and vocational training, helping them recuperate and become independent. The women beneficiaries are supported at all times as their empowerment is SFRAWD’s primary motive. Health, nutrition, medical needs, food, accommodation, vocational training and counseling by experts are a few of the services provided by SFRAWD.
During Covid times, SFRAWD proactively has been providing its services to disabled women beneficiaries and helping them stay safe from the pandemic by counseling on the safety guidelines, precautions to take and also measures to stay safe during the COVID season.
Currently, the project is providing assistance to disabled women between the age of 18 years and 60 years, hailing from different parts of Chennai including widows, women with disabilities, economically backward and those who witnessed abuse and trauma.
