On account of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Dec 3, 2022), Inclusive Marathon 2022 was conducted on the theme “The Path for Pathless”. It was organized by SFRAWD (Society for Rights of Women with Disabilities) to bring inclusiveness among all the people indifferent of their conditions in their daily livelihood and for the benefit of the differently abled people. Men, women, young adults and children from all the categories of disability (locomotor disability, speech and hearing impairment, visual impairment, intellectual impairment, spinal cord injured people, psychosocial disability, multiple disability etc.,) participated in the Marathon. Mr. Sylendra Babu, IPS, who is a Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, was the chief guest of the Marathon. He also participated in the Marathon to support others. Marathon was started at 5:30 am for both 3 km and 5 km category. The marathon started from Elliot’s beach entrance and passed through Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School to reach Besant Nagar, and then the same way back to Elliot’s beach entrance.
More than 1000 people participated in the marathon and made it a great success.
