STATE WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
On March 2, 2025, the Society For Rights of All Women With Disabilities (SFRWD) proudly hosted its 25th State Level Women’s Conference as part of International Women’s Day celebrations. The event, held at Olcott Higher Secondary School, Besant Nagar, brought together differently abled women from across Tamil Nadu to share their stories, challenges, and triumphs. We were honored to have Dr. Padma Venkatraman, President of Women’s Indian Association, as our Chief Guest. Dr. Venkatraman inaugurated the conference and delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and accessibility in empowering women with disabilities. Her inspiring words set the tone for the conference, which aimed to promote equality, dignity, and self-reliance among women with disabilities. As a token of our commitment to inclusivity, we distributed assistive devices, including wheelchairs, hearing aids, white canes, walkers, crutches, and underarm crutches, to empower differently abled individuals. The conference had a profound impact on the participants, who expressed their gratitude and positive regards towards the event. As a gesture of appreciation, we distributed groceries as return gifts to all participants. The 25th State Level Women’s Conference was a testament to the resilience, determination, and spirit of women with disabilities in Tamil Nadu. As we move forward, we reiterate our commitment to empowering women with disabilities, promoting inclusivity, and creating a more accessible and equitable world.
